Pricing

What an ultrasound costs with us.

Most imaging providers will not give you a number over the phone. Here is ours, in full, by exam. The price includes the radiologist's reading fee, so there is no second bill weeks later.

Before you read the table

What these numbers are.

These are cash prices for 2026: what you pay when you are paying us directly rather than billing insurance. Each one covers the whole study, including the radiologist's interpretation. There is no separate professional fee, no facility fee and no surprise second invoice.

A provider's order is still required, as it is for diagnostic imaging anywhere. You do not need insurance prior authorization to get on our schedule, which is usually the step that causes the long waits.

If you are using Medicare, Medicaid or commercial insurance, these are not the numbers that apply to you. Those are billed to the payer and what you owe depends on your plan. Call us and we will walk through it before you schedule.

X-ray and EKG are not on this list. Call (855) 249-9729 and we will quote them.

Common questions

About the money side.

Does the price include the radiologist reading the scan?
Yes. That is the point of publishing it this way. In a lot of imaging, the scan and the interpretation are billed separately, which is how patients end up with a second bill weeks later from a radiology group they have never heard of. Our price covers both.
Is this what I pay if I have insurance?
No. These are cash prices for paying us directly. If you are billing Medicare, Medicaid or a commercial plan, the study goes to the payer and what you owe depends on your coverage, deductible and plan design. Both doors are open, and it is worth asking for the cash number even if you are insured, because with a high deductible it is sometimes lower.
Do I still need a provider's order?
Yes. Diagnostic imaging requires a clinician's order, which is a clinical and billing requirement rather than a Big Sky policy. What you do not need is insurance prior authorization to get on our schedule. See do you need a referral for imaging in Montana.
Do I pay more if the technologist comes to me?
The prices above are the exam prices. If the study happens at the patient's home or facility rather than in one of our clinics, tell us when you place the order and we will confirm the total before we schedule, so there is nothing unexpected.
What does an X-ray or EKG cost?
Those are not on this list. Call (855) 249-9729 and we will quote them. We would rather give you a real number on the phone than publish one that turns out not to apply to your situation.
Why publish prices at all?
Because almost nobody does, and it costs patients real money. For several common studies, no Montana provider publishes a cash price you can look up, which leaves people calling around or simply putting off a scan their provider ordered. See what imaging actually costs in Montana for what we found looking at the published data.
